What the Legal Copy Typing Test measures
The Legal Copy Typing Test measures the speed and accuracy of copy typing legal correspondence, including following amendments on a marked-up draft. Accuracy is reported against the recognised keyboarding standard of 98%.
Typing speed
Net words per minute across two real-length legal letters.
Accuracy
Word-by-word accuracy, including the details that matter most in legal work: names, dates, sums and references.
Following amendments
Typing a marked-up draft as amended, leaving out struck words and adding inserted ones.
Why organisations choose Viewpoint work skills tests
Real tasks, not self-report
Candidates show what they can actually do, rather than telling you what they think they can do.
Scored automatically
Every answer is scored the same way, with no marking for you to do.
Built for the role
Tasks reflect the work people really do in the job, so results speak directly to performance.
Clear reports
Clear results for recruiters, and supportive feedback for candidates.
Reports
The report gives net typing speed and accuracy, each with its score band (Very Low to Very High), and compares accuracy with the 98% keyboarding standard. It shows scores and counts only: the letters and the candidate's typing are never shown. It comes in two versions: an Assessor Report with interview questions, and a Candidate Report with no scores and practical development advice.
