What Does DocCheck Assess?
DocCheck tests Word skills on a real document, not a quiz. Candidates work in a word processor that looks and works like Microsoft Word, with the same ribbon, styles, dialogs and keyboard shortcuts, and complete 24 hands-on tasks on a business report. Every task is checked automatically.
- - Everyday drafting: Formatting text, bullet lists, find and replace, highlights and page breaks.
- - Styles and structure: Heading styles, tables, headers and page numbers, margins and precise find and replace.
- - Long documents and review (Advanced): Tables of contents, track changes and comments, footnotes, sections and columns.
Who Should Take This Test?
DocCheck suits any role that produces documents in Word:
- - Administrators and secretaries
- - Legal secretaries and paralegals
- - Office and support staff
- - Graduates
DocCheck Format
- - Core: 24 tasks in 35 minutes, covering the formatting, editing and layout skills every office role needs
- - Advanced: 30 minutes, adding tables of contents, track changes and section layout
- - Tasks are done on a real document in a word processor that looks like Word
- - Scored automatically; candidates can skip a task and come back to it

DocCheck Report
The report shows the candidate's score and score band (Very Low to Very High) by skill area. It comes in two versions: an Assessor Report with interview questions, and a Candidate Report with no scores and practical development advice.
How to Do Well in DocCheck
- Try the practice tasks: They use the same word processor as the real test.
- Use what you know: Ribbon buttons, right-click menus and shortcuts such as Ctrl+B and Ctrl+H work as in Word.
- Select exactly what the task names: If a task says a phrase, format only that phrase.
- Skip and come back: If a task is taking too long, skip it and return at the end.
